Player guidance

Play Responsibly

Rivetcove costs nothing and pays nothing. It still asks for a few minutes of your attention on how you use it.

Scope of this page

Rivetcove operates a single free social game. There is no deposit facility, no purchase of any kind, no prize and no withdrawal mechanism anywhere on the platform. Points awarded by the game are a score. They hold no monetary value, cannot be transferred between players and cannot be exchanged for cash, goods, credit or any other benefit. Nothing on this site constitutes gambling as defined in any jurisdiction, and this page exists because a game built on reel mechanics still deserves plain guidance.

Age requirement

Access is restricted to adults aged 18 and over. Every visitor confirms their age before the site content becomes available, and that confirmation is stored on the visitor's own device. The confirmation is a control, not a proof of identity. Where a device is shared with a person under 18, the account holder is expected to use the parental controls or content filtering supplied with the browser or operating system to restrict access.

Keeping a session in proportion

Decide the length of a session before it starts rather than during it. Fifteen to thirty minutes is sufficient for a five symbol game, and an external timer is more reliable than judgement once the reels are moving. Close the game while the balance still holds points. Where the balance reaches zero, the reset control restores the starting figure immediately and at no cost, which is the clearest illustration available of what a point is worth.

Indicators worth acting on

The following patterns are recognised markers of a habit forming around a game, paid or otherwise: opening the game automatically rather than by decision; playing to avoid a task, a conversation or a mood; losing track of elapsed time on a regular basis; irritation at the end of a session; and treating the point balance as though it represented value. Any of these is a reasonable prompt to leave the game for several days and observe whether it is missed.

Free play is not practice

Results produced by this game carry no predictive weight. Success in a social game does not imply future success at real money gambling. The outcome of every spin is drawn independently, the published return figure applies only across very large numbers of spins, and no sequence of results here reflects the behaviour of any commercial product.

Obtaining support

Where gambling of any form has become difficult for you or for someone close to you, national and regional services provide free and confidential assistance, including for habits formed around free-to-play products. The organisations listed at the foot of every page on this site publish guidance, self-assessment tools and direct contact routes. A family doctor is also an appropriate first point of contact.
